Care Guide

Avoid Contact with Chemicals:

Remove your jewellery before using cleaning products, perfumes, lotions, or hairspray, as chemicals can cause tarnishing or damage.

Chlorine and salt is erosive to silver and gold so always take your jewellery off before swimming in the ocean or a pool/spa. Even showering or washing hands in areas with high chlorine tap water content is to be avoided.

I am not liable for jewellery that has broken due to erosion.

Take Jewelry Off During Activities:

To prevent scratches, loss, or damage, remove jewelry before exercising, swimming, or doing household chores.

Put Jewelry on Last:

When dressing, make your jewelry the final touch to avoid snagging or exposure to beauty products.

Store Properly:

Keep jewelry in a soft pouch, jewelry box, or airtight container to protect it from dust and moisture. Store pieces separately to avoid scratches.

All silver and gold tarnishes over time. Regular cleaning helps maintain your jewels' sparkle.

Here’s how to safely clean your jewels:

- Soak in warm, soapy water for 5–10 minutes.

- Gently scrub with a soft toothbrush.

- Rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

- Use a silver polishing cloth to remove tarnish.

Check for Loose Stones: Periodically inspect your jewelry for loose settings or clasps, and have repairs done promptly.

Opal care:

Avoid Water & Moisture: Ethiopian opals are hydrophane, meaning they absorb water. Exposure to moisture can change their color or cause cracking.

Always remove your opal jewellery before washing hands, showering, or swimming.

Protect from Impact: Opals are relatively soft and can chip or crack with rough handling. Avoid wearing them during activities where they might get knocked.

No Soap or Detergents: Even mild soaps can affect the stone’s appearance, so it’s best to stick to dry cleaning methods.

- If your opal accidentally absorbs water, let it dry naturally in a safe, shaded spot. It may return to its original color over time.
